Chester Garman

Chester C. Garman, 96, of Xenia, formerly of Wilmington, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 6, 2014.

His wife, Lenora Barker Garman, survives.

His first wife, Ruth Garman, preceded him in death in 1988.

Mr. Garman was born Jan. 15, 1918 in Adams County, the son of the late Charles and Mary Cline Garman.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and retired from NCR in Dayton.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Garman is survived by five sons, Bob Garman, Richard Garman, Charles (Karen) Garman, Denny Garman, and Lester (Robin) Garman; a sister, Ruby Shoemaker; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to his first wife and parents, several brothers and sisters preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be at noon Monday, March 10 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home in Wilmington. Burial will be in the Clinton County Memory Gardens.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. to noon Monday, March 10 at the funeral home.
