Cheryl "Sherry" Johnson, 56, of Wilmington, passed away Monday, April 28, 2014 surrounded by her family.
She was born in Norwalk on June 24, 1957, the daughter of Glenn Wical and the late Ruth Ann Conley Wical.
She attended Wilmington H.S. She worked for Wilmington City Cab and in home health care.
She married Thomas D. Johnson on April 3, 1997. He survives. She is also survived by her father, Glenn (Mary Myers) Wical of Hillsboro; daughters, Sherry Ann (Keith) Peterson and Terri Lynn (Jason Grove) Murphy; former son-in-law, Robert Murphy; grandchildren, Annasty Jean, Patrick "Quinn" and Brennen James Murphy; her loving dogs, Ellie May and Fuzzy; and several loving aunts, cousins, nieces and nephew.
Sherry never met a stranger and was always the sunshine in the room. She was very family oriented and an extreme animal lover.
In addition to her mother, she was also preceded in death by her dog, Betty Davis.
The celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 3 at the senior citizen building in Port William.
