John Louis MacNamara Jr., age 21, of Collegeville, passed away suddenly at his home surrounded by his family on Nov. 4, 2010. |
Born in Norristown on March 23, 1989 he was the son of John Louis and Karen (nee Couch) MacNamara.
John was a senior at Penn State University in Abington majoring in psychology and was on the Dean's List with a GPA of 3.59.
After graduation he planned to go to Colorado to receive his masters degree.
John was a lacrosse player and started with the Collegeville Cougars playing with them for three years and when he attended Methacton High School he played for four years as the goalkeeper and defense.
John enjoyed music, listening to vinyl records, the Grateful Dead, going to concerts, traveling, enjoying the outdoors, filmmaking and his animals Rusty and Sleuth.
In addition to his parents he is survived by his brothers: Corey MacNamara and Todd (Karin) Flanagan; and his nephews: Logan and Joseph.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents: Paul and Anne Couch III and Thomas and Phyllis MacNamara; his aunt Joanne Bell and his uncle Joe MacNamara. Relatives and friends are invited to John's Life Celebration service Wednesday, Nov. 10 from 6 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 9 to 11 a.m. with his funeral service at 11 a.m. at Boyd-Horrox of East Norriton, 200 W. Germantown Pike, 1-800-GIVNISH. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery.
