Bosler, Dorothy* - Norristown
Dorothy Bosler died Jan. 16, 2015, after a long battle with Alzheimer's. She was the wife of John R. Bosler Jr. Born in Norristown, Pa., April 28, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Gladys (Hems) Woodland. She attended Norristown School District and graduated Norristown High in 1953. She then went to the University of Penn for two years to become a medical technician. John and Dorothy were married July 31, 1954, and moved to Haverhill, Mass., where Dorothy was a med tech for Rhode Island Hospital until her first son, Mark, was born in May of 1956. After some gentle prodding from the in-laws, they moved back to Norristown, where they had their second son, Doug, in June 1957. Dorothy embarked on a new career as homemaker, a job she excelled at right through four grandchildren. Besides John, the love of her life for more than 60+ years of marriage, she is survived by her sons, Mark (Joanne) of Harleysville, Pa., and Doug (Margaret) of Audubon, Pa. She was preceded in death by her brother, Ralph, and leaves a sister, Janet Smyth, and four grandchildren, Jessie, Jamie, Megan and Tim. Dorothy enjoyed a wonderful life full of family, friends, music, travel, parties and fun. Her zest for life and cheerful personality made it easy for everyone who knew her to want to spend time with "Dot." Even those that cared for her at her final home at the Birches at Arbour Square in Harleysville, Pa., found her delightful and energetic to the end. Due to her ailment, Dorothy would walk day and night searching for something only she knew of. Now, she is able to run with all those family and friends that have gone before her, with memory fully restored, and her light living on in all those she left behind. Relatives and friends are invited to Dorothy's Life Celebration at Boyd-Horrox-Givnish of East Norriton, 200 W. Germantown Pike, on Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2015, from 11 a.m.-12 noon. Dorothy's Funeral Service will begin at noon. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Dorothy's memory may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 801 West Marshall St. Norristown, PA 19401.
