Kaufmann, Carmella Maria* - East Norriton  
Carmella Kaufmann of East Norriton Carmella Maria Kaufmann, age 90, of East Norriton, passed away on March 25, 2015. Born on December 7, 1924, she was the youngest child of the late Thomas and Christina (nee Esposito) Spezzano. She was a 1942 graduate of Lower Merion High School. Carmella was a homemaker and worked as a file clerk for the Jury Board at the Montgomery County Court House. Her legacy and greatest love was music. From an early age, she sang for family and friends. She studied formal voice instruction with Dr. Barone at the Bryn Mawr Conservatory of Music. As a paid soloist, she sang at weddings and funerals in many of the churches in the Norristown area as well as those in Manayunk and West Manayunk. She is survived by her children Christina (Michael) Gottlieb, James (Marcia) Kaufmann, and John (Cheryl) Kaufmann, grandchildren John James and Ashley, 1 great grandchild, and her sister Eleanor. She will be deeply missed. Relatives and friends are invited to Carmella’s Life Celebration Sunday, March 29, from 7-9 PM, at Boyd-Horrox of East Norriton, 200 W. Germantown Pike. There will be a second viewing Monday, March 30, at St. Titus Church, 3006 Keenwood Rd., East Norriton from 9:30-10:50 AM, followed by her Funeral Mass at 11 AM. Koontz, Donald Ross* - Cherry Hill  
Donald Ross Koontz died on Friday, March 20, 2015, at age 88. Husband of nine years to Harriet (nee Ebersole) Bajewicz-Koontz, and previously to the late Betty Ann (nee Fyfe) Koontz. Father of Katharine "Katy" Louise Koontz. Grandfather of Samantha Friedlander. Brother of the late Richard Koontz. Son of the late Paul Beckley and Blanche (nee Long) Koontz. Born in Buffalo Mills, Pa., and raised in Bedford, Pa., Donald was a longtime resident of Plymouth Meeting, Pa., before moving to Thorofare, N.J., and most recently Cherry Hill, N.J. He was a 1944 graduate of Bedford High School and immediately enlisted in the US Navy, where he served on the destroyer escort USS Wesson (DE-184) until his discharge in 1946. Donald was a 1950 graduate of Penn State University, where he was a member of the TKE fraternity, earning a bachelor's degree in parks & recreation, and he worked as the parks & recreation director for Whitemarsh Township in Lafayette Hill, Pa., for over 30 years and later for the Montgomery County Parks Department for 10 years. Donald loved barbershop quartet singing and was a member of the Society for Preservation and Protection of Barbershop Quartet Singing in America. He was also a member of the Free & Accepted Masons and a member of the Manor Lodge Hunting Club in Slate Run, Pa. Donald enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening, raising vegetables and flowers in his greenhouse. He drove the ambulance in Whitemarsh Township for many years and was a Penn State football fan. Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on Monday, March 23, 2015 from 10:30-11 a.m. at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 3025 Church Road, Lafayette Hill, PA 19444. Memorial service at 11 a.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the Destroyer Escort Historical Museum, USS Slater DE-766, PO Box 1926, Albany, NY 12201-1926. Korkus Sr., Francis John* - Jeffersonville  
Francis John Korkus, Sr. passed away peacefully on Friday, March 20, 2015 at Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, PA. He was 78. Mr. Korkus was a resident of Jeffersonville, PA. He was a 1955 graduate of Saint Matthews High School in Conshohocken, PA. Francis was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Norristown, where he was a member of the contemporary group and the church choir. He was a fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus Holy Family Council Post 3327 and also a member of the Polish-American Club in Phoenixville, PA. Francis was employed by the Budd Company/Polychem Corporation for 47 years, working as a Senior Project Engineer. He was an avid fisherman, hunter (still holding the record of most spike bucks at the Sunset Village Rod and Gun Club) and boater, enjoying many days on Lake Wallenpaupack in the Poconos and many nights around the campfire amusing family and friends with jokes and stories. He was a coach for the West Norriton Little League and President for a short time. The Christmas decorations at his home garnered much attention and for several years earned him first place honors in the township contest. Born in Bridgeport, PA on January 28, 1937, he was a son of the late George and Kathryn (Shutika) Korkus. Surviving is his loving family including his wife of 57 years, Anne (Giannone) Korkus; a daughter, Rebecca (John) Miller; a son, Frank; granddaughters: Janelle (Robert) Hevener, Devin Miller, Amanda, Juline and Frances Korkus; a great-granddaughter, Olivia; brothers, Joseph (Mary) Korkus and George (Annette) Korkus; sisters: Theresa (late Joseph) Mann, Constance Henzler and Barbara (Robert) Smith; and many nephews and nieces. Relatives & friends are invited to attend Francis' Funeral Mass at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 600 Hamilton St., Norristown, PA on Thursday, March 26, 2015 at 11:00am. Officiating is the Rev. James Goerner, pastor. His viewings will be Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 pm, at The Bacchi Funeral Home & Crematory, Ltd., 805 DeKalb St. (Rt. 202), Bridgeport, PA; also Thursday morning from 10 to 10:45 am, at the church. Interment will be in St. Augustine Cemetery, King of Prussia, PA. Kunda III, Watson T.* - Limerick  
Watson T. Kunda III of Limerick Watson T. “Watsy” Kunda, III, 49, of Limerick, passed suddenly at home on Tuesday, March 17, 2015. Born on March 3, 1966, in Phoenixville, he was the beloved son of Watson T. “Wally” Kunda and Jean L. (Day) Kunda, Limerick; and the loving brother of Deborah Kunda, Limerick, Wendy (Kunda) Harris, Douglassville, Lisa Kunda, Limerick, and Kelli (Kunda) Chermak, wife of Gary Chermak, No. Coventry. He was also a devoted uncle to Nicole Chermak, Joseph Harris, Eric Harris, and Jon Chermak. Watson was a 1984 graduate of Spring-Ford High School. He worked his entire life, alongside his family, at the Kunda Sign Co., with his later years spent as an officer of the company. Watsy was an avid sportsman. He spent all of his free time hunting, fishing, and being in the woods. He grew up on his parents’ farm and continued to enjoy plowing and planting the fields with his father. Watsy was a member of the Lower Pottsgrove Sportsmen’s Assn., the South Birdsboro Rod & Gun Club, and the National Rifle Assn. He was a huge Eagles fan and spent many Sundays in the fall cheering them on. NASCAR was another of his passions and he shared that with his mom. Above all else, his top priority and love was his family. In recent years, he cared for his parents and was always available to his immediate and extended family. Watsy will be sorely missed. Watson’s funeral service will be at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, March 24th, in the Good Shepherd Mausoleum Chapel, Limerick Garden Of Memories, 44 Swamp Pike, Limerick Twp., with the Rev. James R. Roth, Retired United Church Of Christ Pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery. Friends may call from 10:00 to 10:45 AM, Tuesday, at the chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Hunt Of A Lifetime Foundation, P.O. Box 241, Harborcreek, Pa. 16421. Arrangements are by Holcombe Funeral Home, Inc., Trappe.
