Elizabeth J. Staurowsky(1929 - 2014)

Elizabeth J. (Keyser) Staurowsky, 84, wife of the late Franklin M. Staurowsky, Adair Dr., Worcester Twp., died Sunday, at home. Mrs. Staurowsky was born on March 12, 1929, in Trooper and was a daughter of the late William and Jean (Levis) Keyser. She was a 1947 graduate of Norristown High School and a 1951 graduate of Ursinus College where she earned a Bachelor's degree in Physical Education. She excelled in athletics and served as Captain of the field hockey, basketball and softball teams. Mrs. Staurowsky retired in 2013 from St. James Episcopal Church, Lower Providence Twp., where she was the administrative assistant for 12 years. She previously worked for Heyser Landscaping and Fluff & Stuff. Early in her career, Mrs. Staurowsky served as a substitute teacher and refereed College Field hockey and Men's league softball. Mrs. Staurowsky was a devoted member of Visitation BVM Catholic Church. She was also a proud member of the Scarlet Zinger's club. Mrs. Staurowsky is survived by her eight children, Gary F., husband of Marie (Crissante) Staurowsky, Worcester Twp., Carol A., wife of Anthony G. DiGiacomo, Lower Salford Twp., Philip M., husband of Cara (Greenacre) Staurowsky, Uwchland Twp., Ellen J. Staurowsky, Lower Providence Twp., Franklin M., Jr., husband of Donna (Barainyak) Staurowsky, Lower Pottsgrove Twp., Steven J., husband of Lisa (Fox) Staurowsky, Lower Providence Twp., Robert J., husband of Kara (McLaughlin) Staurowsky, Longswamp Twp., and William J., husband of Meredith (Ceton) Staurowsky, Newtown Twp; her sisters, Jean, wife of Thomas Dougherty, Limerick Twp., and Carolyn, wife of Paul Rossi, Lower Providence Twp.; and 15 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother, William, husband of Eleanor Keyser, Upper Providence Twp. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, at Visitation BVM Catholic Church, W. Norriton Twp. Burial will be in Green Tree Church Of The Brethren Cemetery, Upper Providence Twp. Friends may call from 7:00 to 9:00 PM, Thursday, at the Holcombe Funeral Home, Inc., 21 Main St., Trappe. Memorial contributions may be made to Visitation BVM Catholic Church, 196 No. Trooper Rd., Norristown, PA 19403, or the Keyser-Staurowsky Scholarship Fund. Contributions to the scholarship should be made out to Ursinus College and marked for the Keyser-Staurowsky Fund and sent to the Advancement Office, Ursinus College, 601 East Main Street, Collegeville, PA 19426.
