Julian Zaczkiewicz

Julian R. Zaczkiewicz passed away peacefully on Feb. 3, 2014, at age 90, at The Peter Becker Community (skilled nursing), in Harleysville, where he had resided since June 2013.
Born in Philadelphia, he was one of nine children of Xenia (Poteyko) and Ludwig Zaczkiewicz. Julian was the beloved husband of the late Lerlene (Franklin). He resided in Collegeville with his caring son, Ronnie, and received the love, attention and company of his daughter, Tanya Reagor, and grandsons, Andrew Reagor and Justin Reagor and his wife, Andrea. He will be greatly missed by his brother-in-law, Ted Franklin, and niece and nephews residing in South Carolina, as well as family members in Pennsylvania.
Julian was the fun-loving brother of Marion, Josephine (Rice), Emily (Tyson), Edward, Albert, and Angie (Calisto), all deceased. He is survived by two sisters, Jean (Steinmetz) of Plymouth Meeting and Estelle (Amato) of Mt. Ephraim, N.J.
Julian spent his childhood on the family farm in Doylestown, and he enjoyed sharing many wonderful memories of that time. He entered the Army Air Corps in 1943 and served as a corporal of the MATS (Military Air Transport Service) until his honorable discharge. Before retirement, Julian was known as "Zack" by his employers and co-workers of Norristown Ford, Bridgeport Garage and Barberas Brothers.
Julian's greatest pleasure was his family, however. He had many hobbies, which included his large garden, golfing, hunting, fishing, repairing any broken item he could find and watching the Phillies and Eagles. He had many years shared with loving neighbors in both Jeffersonville and Plymouth.
A private graveside ceremony is planned for Feb. 17, 2014, at George Washington Memorial Park. Donations in Julian's memory (of any amount) may be made to The Peter Becker Community, 800 Maple Avenue, Harleysville, PA 19438.
