Thomas J. Cicippio

Thomas J. Cicippio, Sr., age 90, of Norristown, passed away on October 8, 2013. Born in Norristown on September 22, 1923 to Camillo and Ida Julia (nee Albanese) Cicippio. Thomas attended Norristown High School, was a former member of St. Patrick Church and a current member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church. He was a veteran serving during WWII in the 97th Infantry Division, reaching the rank of Platoon Sergeant. He received the Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic Pacific Service Medal, Euro-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, WWII Victory Medal and the Purple Heart. Thomas was employed by the US Postal Service and retired with many accommodations and awards. He loved building and operating his model train set for all family and friends to enjoy. He played the piano nightly for his relaxation and to serenade his wife of 67 years. His side hobby was working in his wood shop. Thomas is survived by his wife Frances (nee Calamia) Cicippio, children Thomas J. (Theresa) Cicippio, Jr., Judi Siuta, grandchildren Thomas J. Cicippio, III, Timothy (Cara) Cicippio, Todd (Brynn) Cicippio, Travis (Julie) Siuta, great grandchildren Camillo Cicippio and Adrianna Siuta and great step grandchildren Dominick and Makirra Aquino. He is survived by his brother Joseph (Elham) Cicippio, and was preceded in death by his brothers Alexander, Dominic, Anthony, and Nicholas Cicippio, sisters Rose Abell, Helen Fazio, Edith Cavaliere and his grandson Justin Siuta. Relatives and friends are invited to Thomas's Life Celebration Sunday October 13, 2013 from 6-8PM and again on Monday October 14 from 8-9:30AM at Boyd-Horrox of East Norriton, 200 West Germantown Pike, followed by his funeral mass at 10AM at St. Paul R.C.
