Edward C. O'Donnell

Edward C. O'Donnell, age 94 of Conshohocken, died April 4, 2013 in Regina Nursing Center, Norristown. Husband of Mary Agnes (Scharff) O'Donnell. Born in Roxbourgh, Pa. on October 6, 1918, he was the son of the late Charles and Mary (Gallagher) O'Donnell. He attended Holy Family School, Roxborough, Pa. After marrying his wife they lived in Conshohocken, where they remained until moving to Jeffersonville in 2001. Edward was employed by Walker Brother's in Conshohocken and then went to work for Hale Fire Pump Company where he worked as a machine shop manager until he retired. Ed was extremely active in the former St. Matthew's High School Parents Booster Association. He and his wife traveled extensively, two of the most notable trips were to Ireland where they visited Donegal County, his parent's homeland. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Edward C. (Paula) O'Donnell Jr. of Plymouth Meeting; daughter, Maryann O'Donnell of Philadelphia. He was a loving grandfather to Michael, Matthew, Nicholas, Kim and Kelly and numerous great grandchildren. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Thomas J. O'Donnell. His Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday April 9, 2013 at 10:00a.m. at St. Matthew's RC Church Third & Fayette Streets, Conshohocken. Officiating will be Fr. J. Thomas Heron . Friends may call Tuesday April 9, 2013 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the Church. Interment St. Matthew's Cemetery, Conshohocken. memorial contributions may be made in his name to St. Matthew's R.C.
