Harry DiGiovanni Obituary
Harry DiGiovanni, 83, of Blue Bell passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 16, 2014, at his residence, only eight days after the passing of his wife, Mary (Nicola) DiGiovanni, the love of his life for sixty years. Born May 31, 1930 in Norristown, PA, Harry was the son of the late James and Gaetana (Bono) DiGiovanni. Harry had a varied career, working in the grocery business, as a salesman, as a business owner, and as an inspector for the Montgomery County Board of Health, from which he would retire. Harry was a member of the Sons of Italy LAM, MSS Lodge and Holy Saviour Parish, where he served for years as an usher. He was an honorable Korean War veteran who served his country proudly. To know Harry was to love him; his magnetic personality never failed to attract friends, many of whom would last a lifetime. Harry was the life of every party and the funniest man in any room. He especially loved spending time with his family, most of all with his loving wife. He was a loving father, grandfather, and brother and he will be dearly missed. Survivors include one son: Jay (Liz) DiGiovanni, of Voorhees, NJ; one daughter: Laura (Robert) O'Shea, of King of Prussia, PA; two brothers: Michael DiGiovanni, of Bridgeport, and Steve (Charlotte) Pumilia, of Norristown; two sisters: Lucy (Roccy) Capobianco, of Collegeville, and Betty (Ben) Gallo, of Norristown; three grandsons: Daniel O'Shea, Ryan O'Shea, and Christopher DiGiovanni; and one granddaughter: Lindsay DiGiovanni. He was preceded in death by three sisters: Margaret and Mary DiGiovanni and Angelina Gentile and one brother: William Pumilia. Family and friends are invited to attend a viewing on Thursday evening, March 20, 2014, from 7 - 9pm, at the Caramenico Funeral Home Inc. Main & Walnut Sts., Norristown, PA. And also Friday March 21, 2014 from 10 - 10:45 am, at the Funeral Home, with mass to follow at 11 am at the Holy Saviour Church. Burial will take place in the St. Patrick's Cemetery.
