Helen Erbe, 81, of Phoenixville passed away Friday, Oct. 5, 2012 at Season's Hospice in Phoenixville Hospital following a lengthy illness.
Miss Erbe graduated from Ambler High School and West Chester University with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. She later achieved a Master's degree. Helen spent time traveling and teaching around the world in various situations. She spent three years teaching on a Native American reservation and then in military schools in Europe. Miss Erbe, as she was affectionately known, then taught for the Upper Merion Area School District for twenty five years, retiring in 1989.
Helen was an avid gardener and loved flowers and plants of all types. She was a volunteer in many organizations such as the Philadelphia Zoo and the Audubon Society. She was a wealth of knowledge to those that knew her and particularly to her students.
Any memorial donations can be made in Helen's name to Season's Hospice, 140 Nutt Rd., Phoenixville, Pa.
