Obituary Condolences

James R. Fida, Sr. passed away Monday, February 25, 2013, in Mercy Suburban hospital. He was 69. Mr. Fida of Jeffersonville was retired. He enjoyed home improvements, time with his family and friends, movies, and music. He also enjoyed going to Long Beach Island, where he was a former lifeguard. James was a veteran of United States Army and served during the Vietnam Era. He graduated from Plymouth Whitemarsh high school in 1961 and also attended Penn State University. He was born in Philadelphia on February 6, 1944, and was the son of the late John and Isabel (Flanagan) Fida. He is survived by his wife Sandra (Bartello) Fida, son James "Jamie" Fida, Jr., daughter, Tracey Fida, brothers: Joseph and "Blair," and his five sisters: Barbara Duffy, Joan Barrie, Patricia Tanski, Joyce Dougherty, Judy Gallo and his many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his twin sister, Carol Tierney. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his memorial service on Saturday, March 2, 2013, at 12 noon at the Volpe funeral home: 707 W. Germantown Pike at Whitehall Rd. E. Norriton. Friends may call Saturday from 11 to 12 noon at the funeral home. Family requests in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be sent to the : 150 Monument Rd. Bala Cynwyd, PA, 19004.
