Charles "Chas" Davis, a resident of Phoenixville and formerly of Swedeland, passed away suddenly on Thursday, Oct. 31, 2013, at the age of 51.|
Mr. Davis was employed as a truck driver for Delaware Express of Elkton, Md. He was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church of Bridgeport. He was a member of The Swedeland Vol. Fire Co., where he was a past asst. chief and served on the board of directors. In 1981, he was awarded The Fireman of the Year and in 1992 was presented with an Appreciation Award. He was also a member of the Phoenixville Hose Hook and Ladder Co.
Mr. Davis enjoyed racing and riding his Harley-Davidson, but most of all Chas, enjoyed being with his children.
Born in Norristown on June 6, 1962, he was the son of the late Charles and Helen (Tarhovicky) Davis.
Surviving is his loving companion, Meghan Lochner; his son, Chad Davis of Phoenixville; two daughters, Jamie Davis and Haley Davis of Phoenixville; sister Helen Koff of Sanatoga; brothers Michael Davis and his companion, Alice "Tootsie" Bucha, of Swedeland, Thomas Davis and his wife, Sherry, of Swedeland, and Kevin Davis and his companion, Laurie, of Swedeland; and aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces and great nephews and nieces.
Divine liturgy will be celebrated on Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2013, at 10 a.m. in Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, 519 Union Ave. ,Bridgeport. Monsignor Dr. Ronald Popivchak will officiate. Interment will be private.
Relatives and friends may call on Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. and on Wednesday morning from 8:30-9:15 a.m. at the Bernard S. Gutkowski Funeral Home, 305 Jefferson St., Swedesburg, Upper Merion Twp.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to The Davis Children Educational Fund, c/o Meghan Lochner 168 Regency Dr., Norristown, PA 19403.
