Obituary Condolences

David G. Eckhart, 71, of Lower Providence Twp., husband of Diana L. (Kressler) Eckhart, died Thursday, october 25, 2012 in his home surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Eckhart was born on April 22, 1941, in Jim Thorpe, Carbon Co. He was the son of the late Edgar M. and Evelyn (Pry) Eckhart. Mr. Eckhart was a 1959 graduate of Mauch Chunk High School and served in the US Air Force from 1959 to 1963. Following his discharge from the Air Force, Mr. Eckhart worked at Boeing Aviation. Prior to retiring in 2008, he was a foreman for Chase -Thomas Contractors, Ivyland, and Jude Construction Co. Warminster. Mr. Eckhart was a member of Lower Providence Presbyterian Church, the Lower Providence Rod & Gun Club, the Stoney Creek Anglers and volunteered at the Norristown Farm Park Fish Hatchery. He was an avid outdoors-man, enjoying fishing, hunting and especially boating with his family. In addition to his wife, Mr. Eckhart is survived by his children, James, husband of Keir (Gillan) Eckhart, New Hanover Twp., and Kimberly Makoid, Lower Pottsgrove Twp.; his grandchildren, Madison and Evan Eckhart, Cameron and Avery Makoid; and his sister, Nancy Murphy of Jim Thorpe. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, at St. John Lutheran Church, 6th and North Streets, Jim Thorpe, with the Rev. Samuel J. Seymour, Associate Pastor, Lower Providence Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Jim Thorpe. Friends may call from 7:00 to 9:00 PM, Monday, at Lower Providence Presbyterian Church, 3050 W. Ridge Pike, Lower Providence Twp.; and from 10:00 to 10:45 AM, Tuesday, at St. John Lutheran Church, 6th and North Streets., Jim Thorpe. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lower Providence Presbyterian Church, 3050 W. Ridge Pike, Norristown, PA 19403 ; or the Paoli Hospital Cancer Center, 255 W. Lancaster Ave. , Paoli , PA 19301. Arrangements are by Holcombe Funeral Home, Inc., Trappe.
