Harry C. Gwin

Obituary Condolences

Harry C. Gwin passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on March 31, 2013 at age 92. Born in Altoona, PA, he was the son of Harry C. and Mae (Eichelberger) Gwin. Harry resided most of his life in Norristown with his beloved wife, A. Marjorie (Cunningham) Gwin who passed away in 1985. He graduated in 1939 from the Altoona High School, Altoona, PA. Harry worked for he Penna. Railroad and retired from FMC-Link-Belt Div. in Colmar, PA. He served our country in the U. S. Army, 7th Armored Div. (Lucky Seventh) during World War II. Wounded in France, Harry was awarded The Purple Heart. He was a member of St. Patrick R. C. Church in Norristown. He enjoyed reading and doing word-find and crossword puzzles. He was the loving father of Debbie (Bill) Laumann, Becky (Jim) Heintz and Mike (Karen) Gwin. He was the cherished grandfather of Michael, Steve (Elizabeth Sibley), Kevin (Michele Goscha) and Kelly Laumann; Eric (Shannon), Alissa, and Kyle Heintz; Elizabeth (John Lafferty), Michael and Maggie Gwin and great-grandfather of Colin Heintz. Relatives and friends are invited to Harry's Life Celebration at Boyd-Horrox of Norristown, 200 W. Germantown Pike on Thursday, April 4, 2013 from 7-9 P.M. and again on Friday, April 5th from 8:30-9:30 A.M. His Funeral Mass will be held at St. Patrick Church, 714 DeKalb St. Norristown, PA 19401. Interment will be at St. Patrick Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations in Harry's memory may be made to The Patrician Society c/o St. Patrick Church at the above address.
