Helen Marinari Obituary
Helen (Priest) Marinari, special and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on May 10, 2014 at Regina Nursing Center. Born Sept. 2, 1917 in Norristown, she was the daughter of Elizabeth (Powers) and Thomas Priest. Helen was the beloved wife of the late Anthony ("Marvy") Marinari. She is also predeceased by her son, Peter A. Marinari, and son-in-law, Albert DiGiambattista.
Helen will always be remembered for her amazing positive attitude, warmth and generosity of spirit, beauty and youthfulness, which made her much loved by her family and friends. Nothing was too difficult for her to overcome and she was a gentle yet strong and resilient lady. She was known for her kind words and graciousness to all of those she knew and met. She was known for her style, class and sense of fashion. Helen enjoyed cooking her signature meals, holiday celebrations, and just being with her friends and family. She took great pride in everything she did, especially how she looked and dressed.
She resided in the Lower Providence area for the majority of her married life and was one of the first Visitation BVM Church parishioners.
She is survived by three daughters, Theresa DiGiambattista of West Norriton, Elizabeth Nash (James) of Limerick and Marie Beppel (James) of Phoenixville and daughter-in-law, Gail Marinari of Collegeville. Also surviving are 10 devoted grandchildren, James, John and Robert Nash, Beth and Albert DiGiambattista, Susan Dudzinsky, Sharon Williams, Lynn Nelson, Jill Carton and Trisha Penza. She is also survived and adored by her 20 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her siblings, Mary Romano, Caroline Scheetz, Elizabeth Palmer, Charles, Jack, Thomas and Earl Priest.
The family would like to acknowledge the owners, staff and caregivers of Regina Nursing Center for their outstanding care, devotion, love and friendship bestowed upon Helen during her residency.
Relatives and friends are invited to Helen's Life Celebration on Thursday, May 15, 2014 at Visitation BVM Church, 196 N. Trooper Road, Norristown, PA 19403 from 9-10:30 a.m. followed by her Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be at St. Patrick Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to Regina Nursing Center, 550 E. Fornance Street, Norristown, PA 19401.
