Obituary Condolences

Joan M. (Hockensmith) Santillo passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at Mercy Suburban Hospital in E. Norriton, PA. She was 66. Mrs. Santillo was a resident of Betzwood, PA. She worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse at Mercy Suburban Hospital in East Norriton. Joan was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Bridgeport. She was an Elvis fan and a fan of her grandson's Rugby teams. She also loved to travel, especially to Maine for family vacations. Joan had a wonderful circle of friends who helped her through her battle with cancer. Born in Hanover, PA on November 25, 1945, she was a daughter of the late Lavere B. and Phyllis A. (Wallet) Hockensmith. She was the wife of the late Lt. Donato "Deke" Santillo, who died in 1993. Surviving is her loving family including two daughters, Christine M. DeGraw and her husband, Douglas, of Atoka, TN and Karen R. Koller and her husband, Art, of Exton, PA; five grandchildren: Scott, Matthew, Kevin, Stephen and Emma; and many nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by a son, Brian A. Gambone; a daughter, Catherine Gambone; a brother, Michael Hockensmith; and a sister, Rosalee Kress. Joan's Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 502 Ford St. Bridgeport, PA 19405 on Friday, October 19, 2012 at 2:00 pm. The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday from 1 to 1:50 pm, at the church. Interment will be in St. Augustine Cemetery, King of Prussia. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Joan's memory to the , 480 Norristown Rd., Suite 150, Blue Bell, PA 19422 and/or the Golden Retriever Rescue of Southern Maryland, PO Box 6, Great Mills, MD 20634.
