King David Crowder III

Obituary Condolences

King David "K.D." Crowder III departed this life on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 after being ill. He was born August 10, 1951 in Wadesboro, North Carolina. He was the son of the late, King David Crowder II and Jennie Polk Crowder, one of five siblings. K.D. was proceeded in death by two siblings, Lonnie Crowder and James O. Polk; grandson Will Len Crowder and two godson's Daryus "Snoop" Fairel, and Marcus T. "BU" Bates. K.D. first accepted Christ at an early age at Deep Creek Baptist Church in Wadesboro, NC. K.D. was educated in the Deep Creek school system; until he moved to Norristown in October, 1966 where he graduated from A.D. Eisenhower High School. In later years he also became a member of Mount. Zion A.M.E Church; in Norristown. He met the love of his life Linda Ann Crowder in 1966 and was united in marriage on January 10, 1969. From this union were three children, Dana, Lisa, and Trina and his granddaughter he raised as his very own Kay Dene. K. D. was an extremely hard worker and great provider for his family. He worked 12 years at Sears in shipping and receiving. After leaving Sears K. D. sought a better opportunity and went on to work for Teamsters Labor Union local #135 for 11 years. Thereafter he went on to work at Stroehmanns Bakery being a baker for 10 years. After a short illness K.D. returned to work at the Pennsylvania Turnpike where he was employed at the time of his death. K.D. was a huge sports fan and enjoyed many trips to the Superbowl with his brothers of the Norristown Super Bowl Club. He also was a member of several social clubs throughout the Community; American Legion Post #39, Elmwood Lodge Local #435 and The Norristown Super Bowl Club. K.D. leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of 44 years Linda A. Crowder, daughters Dana Crowder, Lisa Gibson (Will); Trina Allison (Omar); Kay Dene Crowder; brother Edward L. Crowder, sister Brenda Crowder-Queenan; (Keith); grandchildren Diamond Crowder, O'Misha Allison, O'Shaan Allison, JaLisa Gibson, and ZyIrrah Stokes; all of Norristown; nieces Regina Young, and Marla Crowder; nephews Allen, Dennis, and Peter Young; goddaughter TyKonna Brown, and a host of relatives and many, many friends. Funeral Services will be held Friday April 12th at 11am with viewing from 9-11am at My. Zion AME Church 1312 Willow Street, Norristown. Rev. Kanice D. Johns will officiate. Interment Whitemarsh Memorial Park Ambler, Pa. Arrangements are by Jackmon Funeral Homes, Inc.
