Lena (Alessandrini) Delle Monache passed away peacefully on Friday, Nov. 29, 2013 at Broomall Presbyterian Village in Broomall, Pa. She was 83. Mrs. Delle Monache was a resident of Bridgeport, Pa. She worked as a seamstress. Lena was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Bridgeport, Pa. and the International Ladies Garment Workers Union. Lena was known for her Italian cooking, knitting and sewing.
Born in Scerni, Providence of Chieti, Italy on Sept. 26, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Raphael and Rosa (Mancini) Alessandrini. Surviving is her loving family including her husband of 58 years, Camillo L. Delle Monache; a son, Luigi A. Delle Monache of Springfield, Pa.; two daughters, Sandra M. "Sandy" Binnig and her husband, Steven, of Springfield, Pa. and Rose M. Delle Monache of Drexel Hill, Pa.; a granddaughter, Salena; and many nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Camillo and Antonio Allessandrini; and two sisters, Ernesta DeStefano and Michaelina Pachioli.
Relatives and friends are invited to Lena's Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 502 Ford St., Bridgeport, PA on Thursday, Dec. 5, 2013 at 10:30 a.m.
Her viewing will be Thursday morning from 9 to 10:20 a.m., at the church.
Interment will be in St. Augustine Cemetery, King of Prussia, Pa.
