Michael Marine Obituary
Michael Marine of Norristown, passed away peacefully on Tuesday July 3, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. He was 87 years old. Born March 8, 1931 in Black Horse, he was the son of the late Salvatore and Mary (nee Pallidino) Marine, and the beloved husband of the late Marcia (nee Dunning) Marine with whom he shared 56 years of marriage. Michael was a graduate of Conshohocken High School Class of 1949. He was a US Navy Veteran and served in the Korean War. Michael worked as a Phone Technician for the Bell Telephone for 30 years and then he also spent 11 years with Lockheed Martin. Michael enjoyed traveling with his family, and was an avid fan of NASCAR and boxing. He was a member of Holy Saviour Church and Holy Saviour Senior Citizens Club. Michael was a devoted family man and loved spending time with his grandchildren. Michael is survived by his two sons; Michael J. Marine (Kathleen) and Mark C. Marine, Sr. (Ann), five grandchildren; Katie Walizer (Robby), Michael T. Marine, Melissa Harper (Andrew), Mark C. Marine, Jr., and Ashley Zeiders (Curt), two great grandchildren; Parker and Declan and he was looking forward to the birth of two more great grandchildren later this year. He is also survived by his brother Philip Marine (Joan) as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Relatives and friends are invited to share in Michael’s Life Ceelrbation on Monday July 9, from 7 to 9 PM and on Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:45 AM at Boyd-Horrox-Givnish of East Norriton, 200 West Germantown Pike, 610-277-7000. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 AM at Holy Saviour Church on Main St. in Norristown. Interment will be at George Washington Memorial Park.
