Samuel Brown Obituary
Samuel J. Brown of Audubon, Pa. passed away Friday March 7, 2014 at Manor Care Nursing of King Of Prussia, Pa. He was 92.
Born in Harmonville, Pa. on Aug. 13, 1921, Samuel has lived in Audubon, Pa. since 1960, formerly of Wayne, Pa. and Harmonville, Pa., where he was born and raised.
He attended Conshohocken High School and graduated from Brown Prep School. He studied Mechanical Engineering at Drexel Institute of Technology.
Sam was a member of Wayne Presbyterian Church and Lower Providence Presbyterian Church.
He was employed by Alan Wood Steel Co. as superintendent of the Mechanical Department until its closing. He retired from Franklin Mint and most recently was employed by STI Computer Services.
Tech Sergeant Brown served with the 9th Air Force in Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland and Central Europe as Machine Shop Supervisor where he was awarded Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, European African Middle Eastern Campaign with 4 Bronze Stars, and World War II Victory Medal.
He is survived by his wife, Flora M. Brown of Audubon, Pa., his son, Samuel J. Brown, Jr. of La Jolla, Calif. and a granddaughter, Tricia H. Brown of Phoenix, Ariz.
He was predeceased by his parents, John and Esmay (McMullen) Brown.
His Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at 11 a.m. from the Moore, Snear & Ruggiero Funeral Home 300 Fayette Street, Conshohocken.
Friends may call on Wednesday morning from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Moore, Snear & Ruggiero Funeral Home 300 Fayette Street Conshohocken PA.
Interment will be at George Washington Memorial Park, Plymouth Meeting, Pa.
