Josephine Tornetta Obituary
Josephine "Josie" Spera Tornetta, born July 24, 1928, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, March 14, 2014.
Josie was the loving wife of Anthony J. Tornetta, daughter of the late Louis and Susan Spera and step-daughter of the late Rose Durante Spera.
She was a member of the Norristown Garden Club and the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society and had a special interest in the Junior Gardeners. Throughout the years, Josie was very proud of the many entries and ribbons she won in the Philadelphia Flower Show and local club shows.

A devout Catholic, Josie was a proud and active member of Visitation B.V.M. Parish for 56 years. Her involvement over the years included Girl Scout leadership, CYO mentor, Golden Thimble group, Visi Bees, lector, Minister of the Eucharist, Parish council, Militia Immaculata, and the Church Bazaar. In the past several years, Josie and a group of parishioners began celebrating St. Joseph's Table, a Sicilian tradition honoring and commemorating St. Joseph. She volunteered at the Valley Forge Visitors Center for ten years and was a volunteer at blood drives for the American Red Cross in recent years.
She is survived by three devoted daughters, Anne Dozer, Rosalie Hetrick and Maria Jacobs (John) and five grandchildren, Matthew Hetrick (Jaclyn), Alissa Hetrick, Stephen Dozer, Eric Jacobs and Adam Jacobs. She is also survived by two sisters, Phyllis Galanti and Rosalie Smith (Russell) and was predeceased by her brother Salvatore Spera and two sons in law, Thomas Hetrick and Walter Dozer.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at Visitation B.V.M., 196 N. Trooper Road, Trooper PA 19403 on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at 7 p.m.
