Rita V. Bacchi Obituary
Rita V. (Mincarelli) Bacchi, age 93, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, April 13, 2014 at Agrace Hospice in Fitchburg, WI. Mrs. Bacchi was a resident of Madison, Wisconsin over the past fourteen years. She formerly lived in Norristown, PA and retired to Lakeland, Florida. Rita was born on April 6, 1921 in Philadelphia. She was the daughter of the late Julius and Mary (Petacchio) Mincarelli. Rita married Russell G. Bacchi in the early 1940's and they were married well over 50 years at the time of Russell's passing in November 1995.
Rita graduated from Norristown High School. She loved her jobs and was employed by Merck Pharmaceuticals and then she worked for the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture for over 10 years from which she retired. Russell and Rita retired to Lakeland, FL and enjoyed traveling in the summers to visit their family across the country. She had many great times gathering with her loved ones, especially great joy in visiting her granddaughters and great-grandchildren. Rita was an avid reader and enjoyed classics, current novels, and poetry. She would remember and recite many lines from famous books and poetry. Over the years she often entertained family and friends with her many great stories about her life and times. After Russell Sr. passed away peacefully, Rita came to live in Madison at Oakwood Village West. She made many friends and participated in various activities including the Writers Club. She was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church. She will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends.
Rita is survived by her two sons, Russell Bacchi and his wife, Teresa, of Madison, WI and Jay Bacchi of Indianapolis, IN; two granddaughters, Rachel Segars and Alicia Bacchi and her husband, Eric Sortore; and four great-grandchildren, all of Indianapolis, IN; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Russell G. Bacchi; brothers, Alfred and Harry; and sisters, Mary and Philamena.
Rita's Prayer Service will be held at The Bacchi Funeral Home and Crematory, Ltd., 805 DeKalb St., (Rt. 202), Bridgeport, PA 19405 on Thursday, April 17, 2014 at 11:00 am. The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday from 10 to 10:50 am, at the funeral home. Interment will be in St. Augustine Cemetery, King of Prussia, PA.
