Diana Harriet Degerberg Obituary
Diana H. Degerberg of Douglassville Diana Harriet Degerberg, age 82, of Douglassville, Pa., formerly of King of Prussia, Pa. and Woodbury N.J., passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at Keystone Villa in Douglassville, where she was a resident for the past four years. Mrs. Degerberg was born October 18, 1931, in Philadelphia. She was the daughter of the late Daniel H. Handy and the late Mildred B. Taggart Handy. Mrs. Degerberg was married for 50 years to the late Reverend A. William Degerberg, who passed in 2003. She is survived by her loving children, Keith Degerberg (Cheryl) of Pottstown, Pa., and Tracy Degerberg of St. Peter's Village, Pa. as well as her grandchildren, Abigail (Matthew) Peterson of Douglassville, Elizabeth Degerberg of Pottstown, and Galen Gennaria of St. Peter's Village and her Great- Grandson, Daniel F. Peterson. Mrs. Degerberg was a graduate of Ambler High School and Ursinus College. She went on to teach English, Guitar, Ukranian Egg Decorating and Swimming. She also was a Church Choir and Bell Choir Director for several area churches, a past member of both Skippack Playcrafters and Methacton Community Theatre and was Hospitality Chairman for the Philadelphia Folk Festival. Mrs. Degerberg was also a member of the Philadelphia Folk Song Society. Relatives and friends are invited to her memorial service on Saturday, July 12, 2014, 10 a.m. at St. Thomas' Church, Whitemarsh, Bethlehem Pike and Camp Hill Rd., Ft. Washington, Pa., 19034.
