Jude Pierce Obituary
Jude C. Pierce of Norristown, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 25, 2014, with his family by his side. He was 70 years old. Born Sept. 7, 1943, in Norristown, he was the son of the late Curtis and Angeline (nee Lancaster) Pierce and the beloved husband of Frances V. (nee Drakeford) Pierce, with whom he shared over 49 years of marriage.
Jude graduated from Ursinus College with an associate degree in business management. Jude was a former Montgomery County Republican committeeman & treasurer. He also served as a former borough councilman. Jude sold securities and investments. He was a branch manager for PNC Bank and was the local vital statistics registrar for 33 years. He was a great basketball player and played semi-pro in the Eastern League for Sunbury.
In addition to his wife, Frances, Jude is survived by four children, Barry J. Pierce of San Diego, Calif., Doris M. Pierce of Norristown, Victoria F. Andreacchio of Springfield, Pa., and Jeffrey C. Pierce of Norristown; his brothers, Marvin Pierce (Ada), Jerry Pierce; his sister, Barbara Goodman; and four grandchildren, Melissa, Gregory, Matthew and Victoria.
Relatives and friends are invited to share in Jude's Life Celebration service on Tuesday, July 29, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Boyd-Horrox-Givnish of East Norriton, 200 West Germantown Pike, 610-277-7000. His funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 30, at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church in Norristown. Interment will be at St. Patrick's Cemetery. There will be no viewing Wednesday morning.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Jude's name can be made to St. Patrick's Church 709 DeKalb St., Norristown, PA 19401 or to Del Val USA Sports 162 Burnside Ave. Jeffersonville, PA 19403.
