George DiRado of Norristown George DiRado, 91, of Norristown, passed away on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at Brightview Senior Living, East Norriton, Pennsylvania. Born February 22, 1923 in Norristown, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Ralph and Adina (Mecola) DiRado, and loving husband of Josephine (Cognato) DiRado. George was a dedicated serviceman to his country and served in the Army during WWII, after being discharged from the military, George worked as a foreman for many years at Alan Wood Steel Company. In addition to serving in the military he became a member of the Catholic War Veterans and he was also a dedicated charter member of the Sons of Italy LAM Valley Forge Chapter 1776. He enjoyed golfing and bowling and was a member on the retired men's bowling team at Facenda Whitaker Lanes in East Norriton. George was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend to all and he will be dearly missed. Survivors include his three sons; Ralph (Joan) DiRado, of East Norriton, Michael (Mary Ann) DiRado, of Lansdale, and George DiRado, of Hartford, CT. He is also survived by his eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his three brothers; Dominick, John, and Anthony "Tony" DiRado, and one sister; Mary Petaccio. Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation for George on Thursday evening July 31, 2014 from 7:00 - 9:00 PM at the Caramenico Funeral Home and Friday, August 1, 2014 from 9:00 - 10:45 AM.at the Caramenico Funeral Home, Main & Walnut Sts, Norristown PA. Mass will take place following the viewing at 11:00 AM at the Holy Saviour Church, 407 E Main St., Norristown. Pennsylvania. Burial will take place in the St. Patrick's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions made in his name to Holy Saviour Church, 407 E Main Street, Norristown, PA 19401.
