Marguerite D. Borzelleca Obituary
Marguerite DeAngelis Borzelleca, formerly of Norristown Marguerite (Peggy) D. Borzelleca passed away on July 30, 2014 after battling Lewy Bodies Dementia for over 5 years. She was 90 years old. Born July 7, 1924, in Norristown, Peggy was the daughter of the late Paul and Molly (Trosino) DeAngelis. She was the oldest of three children, the late Bobby DeAngelis and the late Betty Lucas. Peg graduated from Norristown High School in 1942 and Ursinus College in 1945. Peggy returned to college and received a Masters degree in Counseling Psychology from Temple University in 1960 just months before the birth of her daughter Barbara. Peggy had a 40 year career in education. She taught Spanish at Norristown High School from 1945 until she started graduate school in 1959. She was the class sponsor for the Class of 1954. In 1961 she started her Counseling career. Peg returned to Norristown High School to assist college bound students. In order to better aid her student, she and her family would visit college campuses on all family vacations. She helped many students on their career paths. Peggy decided in 1971 to switch sides, instead of counseling students about different colleges, she was recruiting them for Montgomery County Community College. She worked in the admission department until she retired as the Assistant Director of Admission in 1984. She was a great role model for coworkers and students. Peggy spent the next 30 years of her life retired and living in Florida with her husband Stan. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, playing bridge, cooking and afternoons reading by the pool. Peg and Stan most enjoyed traveling. Their first trip was their honeymoon in 1948, when they drove to Mexico. For their 50th wedding anniversary, they took a cruise around the world. Over their many years of traveling they visited all 50 states and 6 continents. Peggy chronicled their trips with amazing photos and detailed travel journals. She will be deeply missed. Peggy was the loving wife of the late Stanley P Borzelleca for 64 years. She is survived by two daughters, Marian E. Borzelleca of Plymouth Meeting and Barbara (Borzelleca) Fritz of Laurel, Maryland; two grandsons, Louis W. Fritz of Laurel, Maryland and Sgt. Stanley P. Fritz of the USMC, three sisters in law and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Friends and relatives are invited to attend a Funeral Mass for Peggy on August 2 at 11A.M. in our Lady of Mount Carmel RC Church, 454 Fairfield Road (Black Horse), Plymouth Township with Rev. Francis J. Sabatini officiating. Friends may call Saturday from 10:30 to 11:00 at the Church. Interment at St. Patrick's Cemetery, East Norriton. To honor Peggy's belief in higher education, contributions may be made to the scholarship fund she established in 2011, Marguerite DeAngelis Borzelleca Scholarship Fund, Montgomery County Community College Foundation, 340 DeKalb Pike, West House, Blue Bell, PA 19422. Arrangements by Moore, Snear & Ruggiero Funeral Home of Conshohocken, East Norriton & Trappe.
