Obituary Condolences

Frank Maiello Frank A. Maiello of Limerick, died suddenly in his home on New Year's Day of complications related to pancreatic cancer. He was 64 years old. Born in Fiorenzuola d'Arda in the province of Piacenza, Italy on May 13, 1946, he was preceded in death by his mother, Maria Maiello (Bersano). He leaves behind his wife, Susan (Cameron) Maiello of Limerick; son, Frank and his wife, Evangelia of Jersey City, NJ. He also leaves his father, Frank J. Maiello and his wife, Rose, of Blue Bell; brother, Joseph Maiello and his wife, Fern of Spring Mount; and sisters: Angela Ditzel of Arnold, MD, and Linda Prospero of Princeton, NJ. He was a 1965 graduate of Wissahickon High School in Ambler. Frank served in the U.S. Navy from 1965 to 1969, first as a ceremonial guard aboard the U.S.S. Constitution, and then as a submariner on board both the U.S.S. Clamagore and the U.S.S. Henry L. Stimson. Frank worked for the Sperry-Univac Corporation (later Unisys) for many years in their facility engineering group and later held a position as Senior Project Engineer with Wyeth Laboratories in their Global Engineering Division until his retirement in 2002. He was also a former board member of the Limerick Bowmen Archery Club. He was enthusiastic about his work, which took him around the world but the places he loved best were the open acean and the wild outdoors where he found his greatest peace. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 40 Spring Mount Rd., Schwenksville on Thursday, January 6 at 11 a.m. where friends may visit with the family after 10 a.m. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, (pancan.org), 1500 Rosecrans Ave., Suite 200, Manhattan Beach, CA 90266.
