Louis Bidus Louis J. Bidus, "Louie", of Norristown and formerly Conshohocken, a retired steel worker, died on Friday, March 18, 2011. He was born in Philadelphia on June 27, 1940 son of the late Benedict and Veronica (Taylor) Bidus. He was the beloved husband of Elizabeth A. (Byrne) Bidus. Louie attended St. John the Baptist grade school and graduated from Roxborough High School. His athletic performance at both schools made him a local sports icon. He then proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a steel worker at Midland Steel for numerous years. After retiring from the steel mill, Louie and his wife were owner/operators of Betty Boop's Cakes, Pies and Pierogies. He then served as courier for American Refining Company and American Exploration Company. Louie was a member of Conshohocken VFW Post 1074, Conshohocken Bocce Club, TK Club and Maennor-Chor. Louie and Betty, better known as Louie and Betty Boop, were married four years ago at the Conshohocken Bakery; a historic event that drew the attention of local media. He is survived by a son, Louis (Lisa) Jr. of Philadelphia; a brother, Benedict Bidus Jr. of Collegeville; a sister, Jean Burns of Roxborough; two grandchildren, Sophie and Kyle Bidus. Predeceased by four sisters, Katherine Esbensen, Florence Scher, Bernadette Bidus and Veronica Rippert. Services were held privately at the request of the family. Professional arrangements entrusted to the William A. Moore Funeral Home, 708 Fayette St., Conshohocken, PA 19428.
