Charles C. "Pete" Smith, Jr., 85, of North Wales and Skippack, passed away Thursday, September 06, 2012. He was the husband of Rita M. (Jones) Smith and the late Eleanor (Law) Smith. Born October 29, 1926 in Norristown, he was the son of the late C. Clayton and Mary (Dotts) Smith. Mr. Smith served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was employed as an electrician with IBEW #380 until his retirement in 1989. He was a member of Wentz's U.C.C. Church. Mr. Smith was a 32nd degree mason with the Lehigh Consistory and a member of the Norristown Lodge #620, F&AM, and Tall Cedars, Forest #31. He was also a former member of the Skippack Lions Club. In addition to his wife he is survived by his children, Judith A. Colden of Skippack, Charles C. Smith, III of Hershey, and daughter in law Sandy Smith of Birdsboro; eight grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. In addition to his first wife, he was predeceased by his son, John J. Smith, and his sister, Betty Mims. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service at 10AM on Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at the R.L. Williams, Jr. Funeral Home, Inc., Skippack Pike @ Cedars Rd., Skippack where friends may call for the viewing on Tuesday from 6-8 PM, and again on Wednesday from 9-10AM. Interment will follow the service at Riverside Cemetery in Norristown. Contributions may be made in his memory to Frank's Fund, P.O. Box 36 Royersford, PA 19468.
