Charles Delano Anderson Obituary
Charles Delano Anderson, son of the late Dorothy E. (Anderson) Watson and William A. Jones, was born in Philadelphia, PA, July 6, 1939. He quietly passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2013. Check, as he was affectionately known to family and friends, attended Philadelphia public schools. Following graduation from Simon Gratz High School in Philadelphia, PA, Check joined and served in the U.S. Army. He returned and moved with his family to Norristown, PA, met and married the late Bernice Catherine Jackson and eventually settled in Penllyn, PA. In the mid-1980's, Check was a member of the Freemasonry, and held the offices of, Junior Warden, Sr. Warden, Worshipful Master, and Past Master, of Ambler Lodge #19. He was also a member of the Shriners, Pyramid Temple #1. Until his death, Check was employed with the U.S. Postal Service, Southeastern Post Office, for over 25 years. Check will lovingly be missed by his wife, Judith Laverne (Smith) Anderson; four children, Michael (Doren) Anderson, Michele Johnson, Wesley Morris, and Robin (Christopher) Thompkins; grandchildren, Markus Johnson, Raven Thompkins, and Christopher Thompkins; mother-in-law, Martha Ann James; sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Douglas, Cleo West, and Julia Tucker; brothers-in-law, Aamir Muhammad and Sam Jackson; and host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and friends. He was preceded in death by siblings Eleanor (Honor) McClellan, Daniel (Buddy) Watson, William (Goat) Watson, Louis (Mack) Watson, Agnes (Sue) James, Alberta (Betteye) Lester, Dorothy Rose Watson, Norman (Doc Blake) Watson, Steven "Jeff" Watson, Richard (Dick) Jones and Forrest Jones. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Four Seasons Banquet Hall, 1339 Sandy Hill Road, Norristown, PA.
