1938 - 2013 Obituary Condolences
Gerald A. "Chub" Landis, 74, of Colmar, passed away unexpectedly March 26, 2013. He is survived by his beloved wife, Elaine M. (Gehring) Landis.
Born August 4, 1938 in Norristown, Gerald was a son of the late Melvin F. and Anna Mae (Haines) Landis.
Mr. Landis was a member of I.B.E.W. Local 380 for fifty years. He served in the Navy from 1956 – 1962. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed skiing with his family. Above all else, Gerald loved being a husband, father, and grandfather; he cherished spending time with his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed.
In addition to his wife, Gerald is survived by seven children, Carol A. Landis Magee and her husband, Michael Magee, of Towamencin Twp., Susan M. Landis and her husband, Robert Griffin, of Arlington, VA, Molly Landis-Saylor and her husband, Albert J. Saylor, III of Glenside, Nancy J. Landis of Arlington, VA, John A. Landis of Philadelphia, Patrick J. Landis of Philadelphia, and Joseph A. Landis of Colmar; four beloved grandchildren, Riley and Kelsey Magee and Avery and Sophia Saylor; three siblings, John O. Landis and his wife, Mary, of Mesa, AZ, Susan G. Landis of Skippack, and Robert M. Landis of Lock Haven; and three sisters-in-law, Janet Landis, Jessie Landis, and Brenda Lynch. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews and their families.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Melvin F. Landis, Jr., James W. Landis, and Dennis F. Landis.
Friends are invited to greet the family 8:30 – 10:15 AM Saturday, March 30, 2013 at Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, 701 Derstine Ave., Lansdale, PA 19446, where his memorial service will follow at 10:30 AM. Interment will be in Lansdale Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gerald's memory to the , 150 Monument Road, Suite 100, Bala Cynwyd, PA 19004.
