Robert E. Miller

Robert E. Miller, died May 4, 2013 after a courageous fight with brain cancer. Rob was born on May 11, 1965 in Frankfurt, Germany to then Lt. Laird F. and Ann L. Miller. He is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Suzanne and two sons, Mikolas 15, and Patrick 13. He is also survived by his brother, Andy and sisters, Jody Nogle and Katie Bridges. Rob lived his early years in Ohio and then in Arizona, where he was a member of Boy Scout Troop 441 in Scottsdale. He received his Eagle Scout Award in 1983, while a member of Troop 99 in Lancaster. He graduated from Manheim Twp. High School in Lancaster in 1983 and from Millersville University in 1987, where he majored in biochemistry. He later earned a MBA from St. Joseph University in 1996. While in high school he was a member of the marching band and the concert band. He was also a member of the band known as Briggs Beall, which played at clubs in the Lancaster and Philadelphia areas. He was an active member of Hope Community Church serving as an elder and youth leader, and recently joined Valley View Community Church. He held a First Degree Black Belt in TIMK karate-Do, and he enjoyed being outdoors, hiking, biking, and camping. He remained active with the Scouts, initially as Den Leader, Committee Chair and Cubmaster of Cub Scout Pack 119, Evansburg and recently as Assistant Scoutmaster and Committee Member of Boy Scout Troop 119, Evansburg. Rob began his professional career as a research chemist and later became an entrepreneur and consultant to the pharmaceutical industry. His love of music, travel, people and fine wine was surpassed only by his love of family. Rob impacted the lives of many people in his short sojourn on this earth; he will be sorely missed by his many family members, friends and acquaintances. A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, July 13th at Hope Community Church, 740 N. Henderson Road, King of Prussia, PA 19406.
