James G. Hildebrand

1940 - 2013 | Obituary | Condolences
James G. Hildebrand, "Jimmy," age 72, of Harleysville and formerly of Conshohocken, a retired car salesman, went home to be with the Lord on Friday May 24, 2013. He was born in Millvale, Pa., on July 28, 1940, son of the late Joseph E. and Elsie (Staley) Hildebrand. He was the beloved husband of Mary Ann Negri McGuire Hildebrand.
He graduated from St. Matthew High School, Class of 1958, where he played football and basketball. He served his country honorably in the United States Air Force for four years. He was employed by Alan Wood Steel, Murray Dodge, Conshohocken Ford, Bryner Chevrolet and Louis Auto Sales. He was a member of the TK Club, CBC Club, Walnut Meadows Bocce Club and the Andrew Lanutti Post. He excelled in all sports and activities, where he was an avid golfer, enjoyed playing cards, bocce ball, ping pong, checkers and backgammon. One would never want to play against Jim in any of these games because you would lose one way or another.
He is survived by a son, James J. Hildebrand (Martie) of Plymouth Meeting; five daughters, Dr. Lynn Hildebrand of New York, Francine Polansky (Jeff) of North Wales, Joan Hildebrand of Limerick, Arlene Gallagher (Keith) of Plymouth Meeting, and Darlene Hildebrand of Conshohocken; a step-daughter, Dr. Chris McGuire of Gladwynne; two brothers, Robert and Joseph of California; seven grandchildren, Jack and Luke Hildebrand, Madison and Ryan Polansky, Keith and Kyle Gallagher, Sydney McGuire; his beloved dog, Coco; and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may pay respects on Wednesday evening, May 29, from 6-9 p.m. at the William A. Moore Funeral Home, 708 Fayette St., Conshohocken, PA 19428, or on Thursday morning, May 30, from 8-8:30 a.m. at Crosspoint Baptist Church, 64 Allentown Road, Souderton, PA 18964. A service will commence in the church at 8:30 a.m. Interment, St. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, Pa.
