Helen (Spitko) Bolis, 98, wife of the late Joseph J. Bolis, South Daytona, Fla., died Sept. 28, in the Hospice Care Center, Port Orange. She was a former resident of Lower Providence Township and Norristown.
Mrs. Bolis was born on June 19, 1915, in Tuscarora, Schuylkill County. She was a daughter of the late John and Anna (Horoch) Spitko.
Mrs. Bolis is survived by her children, Carol, wife of Randall Evans, Daytona Beach; Gary, husband of Marian (Sherwood) Bolis, Lower Providence Township and Joseph Jr., husband of Janice (Gottshall) Bolis, Sun Lakes, Ariz.; seven grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two grandchildren and 11 siblings.
Mrs. Bolis is remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She enjoyed playing cards and dancing, volunteered at the former River Crest home for special children, and many years ago fed needy strangers who appeared at her door.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, Oct. 18, at Augustus Lutheran Church, Main St. and 7th Ave., Trappe, with the Rev. G. Warren Weleck, Pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 1 to 1:45 p.m., Friday, at church. Memorial contributions may be made to Halifax Health Hospice, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32129. Arrangements are by Holcombe Funeral Home Inc., Trappe.
