This is 3 years late, Mary. I happened to google George & found this obituary. He came back to memory today when I got a text from Sharon, who's driving with her sister down I-81 through VA. I remembered my first time on that interstate was with George heading for Arkansas almost 50 years ago. Those were strange times in Arkansas during the Vietnam War, but George & you made it sane. Sort of.

The sweetest and sincerest obituary. I did not have the pleasure of meeting him, but got teary eyed reading the combination of humor and sadness. May all who feel the impact of his physical absence be comforted that he is truly near in spirit.

He also loved Diet Coke, the Powerball lotto, WWII history, estate sales with Mom, trading cars every 6 months, and dark meat turkey with gravy. I miss you, Dadda.
