Wayne Mah Obituary

Wayne Wei-shung Mah of King of Prussia Wayne Wei-shung Mah passed away suddenly at his residence on Friday, August 14, 2015. He was 84 years old. Wayne was born and raised in Hong Kong on August 20, 1930 and emigrated to the United States in the late 1950’s. After receiving a Master’s Degree of Engineering from Yale University, he worked for the United States Navy for 40 years as a mechanical engineer. Wayne was very active in the Chinese community in Philadelphia, and after his retirement, he was a translator for several courts, hospitals, and federal agencies, speaking multiple Chinese dialects including Mandarin and Catonese. He particularly enjoyed contributing to and watching the achievements of his children. Mr. Mah was a resident of King of Prussia, PA for over fifty years. Surviving is his loving family including a son, Stan C. (Susan Arnold) Mah of Newton, MA, two daughters, Lesley C. Collons of Collegeville, PA and Beverley C. (Jason) Wilmoth of Dresher, PA, a sister May Chan of Chinatown, NY, and eight grandchildren, Eric and Andrew Mah, Marissa, Matthew, and Tyler Collons, and Lia, Logan, and Luke Wilmoth. He was preceded in death by a brother, Val Mah. Wayne’s funeral service and internment will be private at the request of the family.
