Jean Conrad Obituary

Jean D. (Rosenberger) Conrad, 79, wife of Kenneth L. Conrad, Schwenksville, died Monday, January 30, 2017, at Parkhouse Nursing & Rehab. Ctr., Upper Providence Twp. Jean was born on January 28, 1939, in Pottstown, and was the daughter of the late Ralph C. and Virginia B. (Stone) Rosenberger. She was a graduate of Schwenksville High School and Lansdale School of Business. Jean’s life was dedicated to service. As a member of Heidelberg United Church of Christ, she sang in the choir, taught Sunday School, served on the Consistory, was a founding member of Helping Hands, and helped organize a women’s softball team. She was a past-president of the Women’s Civic Club, Schwenksville, and a member of Freeland Chapter #323, Order of The Eastern Star, Collegeville. She was a member of the Schwenksville Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary as well as a Brownie and Cub Scout Den leader. She combined the love for her children with her love of softball when she co-founded and organized the Central Perk Girls Softball league. Jean will always be remembered for her sense of humor, her homemade Halloween costumes, her meticulous attention to detail and her relentless love for her family. In addition to her husband, Jean will be greatly missed by her children, Pamela G., wife of David McCormick, Bethel Alaska, and Shawn E., husband of Kelly (Schaeffer) Conrad, Oley; and her grandchildren, Conrad “C.J.” McCormick, Tierney McCormick, Matthew Conrad and Kyle Conrad. She was preceded in death by her brother, Ralph C. Rosenberger. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, at Heidelberg United Church Of Christ, with the Rev. David L. Clemens, Retired Pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Schwenksville Cemetery. Friends may call from 2:30 to 4:30 PM, Sunday, and 10:00 to 10:45 AM, Monday, both times at church. An Order of the Eastern Star service will be held at 3:45 PM, Sunday, at church. Memorial contributions may be made to Heidelberg United Church of Christ, 251 Perkiomen Ave., Schwenksville, PA 19473, or Daily Bread Community Food Pantry, 360 Gravel Pike, Collegeville, PA 19426. Arrangements are by Holcombe Funeral Home, Inc., Trappe.
