Barbara Mae Santos

Barbara Mae Santos, 84, died peacefully at her home in Vallejo on Oct. 8, surrounded by her loving family. Born Nov. 16, 1927 in Little Rock, Arkansas to Jewel (Elizabeth) and Willie Cheney, Barbara and her family came to Santa Monica, California in 1942. She met and married Vern Dille in 1946 and they moved to Vallejo in 1951. They later divorced in 1961. While working at the Barrel Club in Vallejo, Barbara met Victor Santos and they married in 1964.
Preceded in death by the love of her life, Victor Santos; her parents, Jewel and Ruben Bryant, Willie Cheney; her sister, Mary Ann Benson, and her son-in-law Bill Dunn.
She is survived by her daughters, Linda (Bill) Dunn, Shari (John) Guthmiller, Lorie (Robert) Perez and son, Don (Karen) Dille; nine grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren, and her beloved dog, Jazzy.
Barbara enjoyed many hobbies including sewing, knitting, crocheting, cake decorating, astrology and bingo. For many years she was part of a local tap dance group, Alive and Kicking, who tapped their way into the hearts of many an event throughout Solano County. She was also involved with the Red Hat Club that frequented Zio Fraedos on their Taco Tuesday nights.
