Heloise "Toni" DiRicco, 91, passed away after a brief illness on Monday, Dec. 24, at Sutter Solano Medical Center.
Born in Lancaster, Kentucky, to George and Lillian Montgomery Cox, Toni moved to Vallejo during WWII
to join her husband, Oliver D. Marsee, who was stationed on Treasure Island. Following his death, she married R. Dan DiRicco in 1962. Mr. DiRicco passed away in 1988.
Although she graduated from Eastern Kentucky University with a teaching degree, she left the classroom behind when she relocated to Vallejo. Toni began a bookkeeping career with Gibson Publications in the mid-fifties and loved working there for three generations of family owners until two weeks before her death.
Over the years she enjoyed being involved with the organization that began as the Credit Women's Breakfast Club and evolved into Credit Professionals International, serving as a past district president. She was active on the Board of her church, serving as Treasurer for more than two decades. She was also proud to be an Honorary Kentucky Colonel.
She is survived by daughter, Sheila (Steve) Hofer of Sacramento, and a host of friends and coworkers.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m., Friday, Dec. 28, at Wiggins-Knipp Funeral Home, 524 Capitol St., Vallejo. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 29, also at Wiggins-Knipp Funeral Home. Private entombment will be at Sunrise Memorial Cemetery.
