Oct. 22, 1933 Jan. 22, 2014 Jerome Hartman passed away in Woodland, CA after a lengthy illness. Jerry was born in Vallejo to Theodore and Stella Hartman. He grew up on Cassady Street and graduated from Vallejo High School in 1951. He served four years in the U.S. Navy
. He graduated from San Jose State University with a Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering. He worked in the aerospace and hi-tech industries, at companies including Hughes Aircraft and Beckman. He eventually went on to form his own business, Inter-Continental Research Corporation, based in Concord, CA. He lived in Vallejo over 60 years. He retired to Clear Lake and later Woodland, CA.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Arlene; children, Taymar (Peter) and Jeffrey (Ann); step-children, Daniel (Monica), Tanya (Darnell), Scott; grandchildren, Zachary, Hailey, Olivia, Jessica, Jaclyn, Jeanna, Cole, Krystal, and Jordan. He was a loving and responsible spouse, parent and grandparent, who loved spending time with his family.
Jerry loved all things mechanical and electrical. As a boy he spent hours building radios and collecting electric trains. He also loved music. He played piano, vibraphones, flute, ukulele, and sang in a barber shop quartet. He was always up for making music with friends and family. He loved camping and boating. He spent many fun boating vacations with family and friends at Clear Lake, Lake Berryessa, and Sly Park.
Anyone who knew Jerry will never forget him. He was fun-loving, intelligent, willful, passionate, and uninhibited. He entered into projects with energy, a well thought-out plan, and a remarkable determination to reach his goal. He loved meeting people, sharing laughs and stories. He had an off-beat sense of humor, and many comical sayings. He will be dearly missed. There will never be another like him.
