Richard M. Sandoval, 85, of Benicia passed away Friday, March 1, in Fairfield. He was born in Benicia and lived in Benicia most of his life.
He served in both the United States Navy
and United States Air Force and was discharged in 1952. He continued his Federal Service for an additional 40 years ending at Mare Island as a Computer Programmer Analyst.
He was a member of St. Dominic's Church and also volunteered his time at Southampton Swim Club as Secretary for many years. He also worked at his local voter booth every election.
Richard is survived by his son, Mark Sandoval of Fairfield; brothers, Stephen of Chula Vista, Vincent of American Canyon, Ernest of Anderson, Henry of San Mateo and Leo of Roseville; grandchildren, Matthew, Jeremy, Stacie, Christine, Sioban, Jamie, Gabrielle, Devon and Shyann; and great grandchildren, McKenzie, Owen, Chase, Jade, Sage, Reagan, Kennedy, Warren and Preston. He was preceded in death by Barbara, his wife of over 43 years in 2009.
A Memorial mass will be held 1 p.m., Thursday, at St. Dominic's Church. Burial will be private in All Souls Cemetery, Vallejo.
