Robert J. Hunt, Sr., 78, of Benicia, CA., transitioned peacefully from the physical world to the Spiritual world, Oct. 2.
Bob was born March 17, 1934, to Annie Mae Betties and Fred Finn in Muskogee, OK. He was raised by Ernest and Mollie Hunt.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, and sisters, and two grandchildren.
At an early age he joined the US Air Force
and travelled around the world as part of a flight crew. Upon his honorable discharge from the Air Force he began a community-based business in Oakland, CA., that trained and employed community people. He later joined IBEW Local 302 and UA Local 342 from which he retired in 1996.
He enjoyed anything involving computers, documenting family history, camping, boating, and travelling. He was a solution-oriented person who could fix almost anything. He was a source of knowledge, encouragement and inspiration to countless young people.
First and foremost, he dearly loved his family. He leaves to honor his life, Novanna, his wife of 45 years; sons, Robert Hunt, Jr. (Lorraine) of Cibolo, TX., Gary Hunt of London, England, Terence Abbott Hunt of London, England, Roderick Alexander of Vallejo, CA., and Rossmon Hunt (Chisoni) of Benicia, CA.; daughters, Bobbie Jo McClain (Al) of Kansas City, KS., Debbie Hunt of Omaha, NE., Sherry Hunt of Omaha, NE., Karless Osby of Palmdale, CA., and Monique Hunt of Benicia, CA.; stepchildren, Mitchell Hill of Kansas City, KS., Teresa Hill of Oakland, CA., and Cherie Abbott of London, England; also, 34 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
The burial service will be held at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, 5810 Midway Rd., Dixon, CA., at 2:30 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 11.
