Ronnie Dunn, age 66, passed away in his sleep at Kaiser Permanente Hospital, in Vallejo on Friday. Ronnie was born in Stockton, CA., Nov. 17, 1946, then six months later, his family moved to Vallejo. Ron was an alumni of Hogan Sr. High, year of 1965. He became a shipfitter and then a fire fighter
at Mare Island Shipyard for 33 years and also became Fire Chief at Camp Parks in Dublin, CA., retiring on Feb. 1, 1998. Ron also worked for Montgomery Van Lines, last working for United Van Lines and various other moving companies in the Bay Area for approximately 40 years.
Ronnie is survived by his wife, Connie Padilla Dunn of 47 years and children, Rhonda, Kenny, and Gail; three grandchildren, Daniel, Makayla and Ryan. He is also survived by siblings, Michael (Steve) and his wife Dana, Linda J. Padilla and her husband Art, and John and his wife JoAnn.
Preceded in death by his parents, Cleo and Marie Dunn.
Ron was a loving husband, father and grandfather and enjoyed playing with his children and grandchildren. He loved taking his family into the outdoors for camping, fishing, hunting as well as family picnics.
His wishes were that all donations be made in his name to the
. His favorite flowers were the Gladiola's.
There will be a viewing on Friday, Jan. 25, from 4 to 8 p.m., at 1525 Sonoma Blvd., Vallejo. A memorial service will be held at the same location at 11 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 26. Burial will be at Skyview Memorial located at 200 Rollingwood Drive.
