Rose Marie Valenzuela

June 3, 1932 – June 21, 2013
Rose Marie Valenzuela, 81, passed away at her daughter's home in Benicia following a brief illness.  She was born in Berkeley and a longtime resident of Albany. She was a homemaker. Rose Marie enjoyed sewing and camping, and was a member of St. John's Lodge of El Cerrito. 
Rose is survived by her children, Teresa E. Sousa, Julianna C. Frasier and Steven Valenzuela; sisters, Peggy Gomes and Angie Hurtado; grandchildren, Jessica Lodetti, Mario Souza, Tara Yaya, Nicole Johns, Rachel Frasier, Zachary Frasier and Briana and Antonio Valenzuela; great grandchildren, Jasmine Green, Sadou and Kareen Yaya, Layla Lodetti and Taylor, Jasmine and Vanessa Souza; longtime friends, George Chittenden, Lise Liepman, Larry and Mary Rose Garcia, and Mickey and Bob Bressum. Rose Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert; her daughter, Lydia L. Valenzuela, and her son, Richard V. Valenzuela. 
Recitation of the Rosary was held Tuesday, at Passalacqua Funeral Chapel, 901 West Second St., Benicia. Graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, at Golden Gate National Cemetery, San Bruno, CA. Visitation was held at the mortuary, Tuesday.
