Samuel Mitchell Quinn Sr.(1964 - 2014)

Oct. 23, 1964 July 14, 2014

Samuel Mitchell Quinn Sr., age 49, peacefully passed away at his Vallejo home on July 14. Samuel (Sam) was born on Oct. 23, 1964 to Eloise and Willie B. Quinn in Vallejo, growing up in the Country Club Crest Community. As a child he spent time with his family attending St. John Missionary Baptist Church, also located in Vallejo.

Sam attended Elsa Widenmann Elementary School, proceeded to Springstowne Middle School, where he met the love of his life, Londa Adamson, who he later married. From this union two children were born, Keayana Nicole Quinn and Samuel Mitchell Quinn Jr. Later adding to their family Jacob Papay Clark-Quinn and Rajanee Quinn. He received his diploma from Dr. James Hogan High School.

His happiest moments were spent with his loving wife, children, and granddaughter. When he wasn't supporting school activities and family life, his favorite past times included; attending sporting events, boating, fishing, and mentoring kids through coaching baseball at North Vallejo Little League, later serving as the president for several years.

Most don't get the privilege to love their work, but Sam did. He dedicated over 20 years to the Contra Costa Community Colleges where he touched the hearts of coworkers, teaching faculty, and students.

Sam had a loving spirit. He was a man of God who was most proud of his family; they meant everything to him. He strongly believed that family should always come first. Giving back to the community was also important to him. He enjoyed staying busy, whether it was working in the yard or helping anyone in need.

He is survived by his wife and soulmate, Londa A. Quinn of almost 26 years of marriage; four children, Keayana Nicole Quinn, Samuel Mitchell Quinn Jr., Jacob Papay Clark-Quinn, and Rajanaee Quinn; and a granddaughter, Dylan Nicole Quinn; his mother, Eloise Quinn; brothers, Willie B. (Billy) Quinn Jr., Randolph Wesley Quinn, Ricardo Eugene Quinn Sr.; sister Cynthia Quinn; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, Godchildren, and extended family; he is preceded in death by his father, Willie B. Quinn; sister, Margaret Quinn and brother, Marvin Bernard Quinn.

Per his wishes, there will be a celebration of his life in place of a memorial service. We want to honor and celebrate the man he was and what he meant to many with food, music, games, laughter, and love.

He was a guardian of his family and community here on earth and will continue to be one as an Angel in heaven.

Please visit our memorial page for updates regarding the celebration of life event taking place at a later date. We welcome you to share your memories celebrating the life of Sam Quinn Sr.
