Velma Medeiros Obituary
Velma Medeiros, 87, died Thursday, Sept. 23, in Vallejo following a long illness.
Velma was born in Benicia to Joe and Elsie Luiz, both native and lifelong Benicians. Velma worked at the Benicia Arsenal in the accounting department and retired from her job there. She lived in Petaluma for many years where she helped run a dairy farm with her then husband, Manuel Medeiros.
She is survived by her cousin, Myrtle Marie Correia of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and two second cousins, Sharon (Jay) Glassmaker of Bayfield, Colo., and George (Wanda) Gieffels of Benicia.
A Requiem Mass will be offered at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 29 in St. Dominic's Church, Benicia. A private entombment will follow in
St. Dominic's Cemetery, Benicia. The Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Passalacqua Funeral Chapel, 901 West Second St., Benicia, where friends may call after 4 p.m. on that day.
