Arthur F. Battiste Jr., born in New Orleans, May 25, 1919, was greeted at the Pearly Gates on Sept. 28. Arthur, a WWII veteran, and his wife Aliece moved to Vallejo in 1946 where they raised their five children and nephew Al. Arthur was an active member of the Vallejo community, volunteering in the Boy Scouts, PTA, and St Vincents Church. Arthur worked as a chemist at ASARCO for 25 years and Union 76 for 10 years.
Preceded in death by his wife, Aliece, of 57 years in 2001. He married Teresita Parrera in 2004. Art said he was grateful to God for lending him these two beautiful ladies. He is also survived by his children, Tony (Julie), Suzanne (Frank), Mary (Michael, deceased), Annette, deceased, (Bill), Roxanne (Jim); 10 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren, and a great great grandson; sisters, Shirley Wilcox and Marie Damnavits.
Contributions may be made to Sutter Solano Medical Center Cardiac Unit and Kaiser Permanente in Vallejo.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., with a Vigil held at 7 p.m., Oct 4, at Colonial Chapels.
A funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m., Oct 5, at St. Vincents.
Interment immediately following at All Souls Cemetery.
