Al attended elementary school at St. Vincent's in Vallejo and St. Apollinaris in Napa, graduating from Justin Siena Catholic High School in 2010.
He was pursuing a career as a firefighter studying fire technology at Sierra College in Rocklin. As a member of the Napa Explorer Cadets, under the direction of the city of Napa Fire Program, he was recently certified as a Search and Rescue volunteer and became a member of Napa Search and Rescue.
Al was a remarkable, kind, and thoughtful young man with a great sense of humor, who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
He will be sadly missed by all who loved him. Al loved football and the Raiders. In his youth, he played football for the Napa Saints and, during high school, played for Justin Siena. He played baseball for Napa Little League and Babe Ruth. He loved water skiing, wake boarding, surfing and fishing. Al was a member of Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church in Vallejo.
Al was preceded in death by his father, Alfred Brown. He is survived by his mother, Natalie; and siblings, Katherine (David) Hesseltine, Sherri Brown, Sean (Crystal) Brown, Jason Brown, and
Jessica MacDonald. He is also survived by his grandparents, George and Katherine Gianulias, Al and Irene Brown, and Linda and Jim Morrone; his aunts, Nikki Gianulias and Sue and Sheila Brown; and his uncle, Jimmy Gianulias.
All services will be held at Tulocay Cemetery Funeral Home, 411 Coombsville Road, Napa. Visitation will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 24, followed by Trisagion and Rosary at 7 p.m. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 25.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to the Al Brown '10 Memorial Fund at Justin Sienna High School, 4026 Maher Street, Napa, CA 94558, or the Napa Fire Explorers, P.O. Box 660, Napa, CA 94559.
