Antonio "Tony" Tyquiengco, 63, passed away peacefully on Nov. 30, at the San Francisco VA Hospital. He was born on March 27, 1949 in Merizo, Guam. He was preceded in death by both parents, Antonio and Maria Tyquiengco; siblings, Josephina, Lydia, Maria, Francisco, and Jose. Tony spent his early years in Guam until he joined the US Army in 1969 where he served time in Vietnam. Later, he continued in the Army Reserve and settled in Vallejo, California. His career included working at DOW Chemical and caretaker for the elderly. He lived the final years of his life in the Veterans Hospital Community Living Center.
There is no denying he had a heart of gold and was very generous to many. His smile could light up any room and his prankster ways made his presence a pure joy. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Anthony and Desiree Tyquiengco of Temecula, CA; daughter, Sheila Tyquiengco and Marvin Domingo of American Canyon, CA; loving friend, Marianne Espiritu; grandchildren, Darren, Jaylen, Destiny, Kai, Kaliana and Kaden; siblings, Isabel Carbullido, Conception Cruz, Juan, Lourdes and William Tyquiengco.
Tony was greatly loved and will be missed by his family and friends. A memorial service will be held Sunday, Dec. 9, at 2 p.m., at Skyview Memorial 200 Rollingwood Drive, Vallejo, CA 94591. A private burial will be held at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery.
